    How to Design a Creative Towel Hook using 3D CAD Software

A towel hook, for example, isn’t usually something we think much about, but with the right design it can be both useful and fun. Thanks to 3D modeling tools like SelfCAD, it’s easy to bring ideas to life without needing years of design experience. In this article, I’ll walk you through how to design a creative towel hook using SelfCAD, showing how a small project can turn into a chance to experiment, learn, and make something unique for your home.

    Once you’ve launched the editor;

    From the 3D Shapes category on the toolbar choose cube; Set width to 50, height to 20, depth to 150.




    Tick the checkmark finalize cube

    From the 3D Shapes category on the toolbar choose sphere; Set radius to 100, horizontal segments to 50, vertical segments to 50, position y to 5, position z to 10.




    Tick the checkmark to finalize sphere

    Click cube selection on the toolbar; Set left to 85, right to 115




    Tick the checkmark to finalize cube selection

    Click inverse selection button to inverse selection, click delete button to delete selected objects




    From the tools category on the toolbar choose fill polygons




    Tick the checkmark to finalize fill polygons

    Click on mesh 4 to select it

    Click Boolean on the toolbar; from the tool panel choose difference, Choose mesh 8 to subtract.




    Tick the checkmark to finalize difference

    From the 3D Shapes category on the toolbar choose cube; Set width to 20, height to 20, depth to 20, height segment to 3, position y to 10, position z to -60.




    Tick the checkmark finalize cube

    Click to activate face selection; Click on highlighted region to select it




    From the modify category on the toolbar choose extrusion; Set extrusion amount to 120.




    Tick the checkmark to finalize extrusion, Click on highlighted region to deselect it

    Click on difference 1 to select it

    Click Boolean on the toolbar; from the tool panel choose difference, Choose mesh 12 to subtract and set keepsubtracted object to true.




    Tick the checkmark to finalize difference

    From the 3D Shapes category on the toolbar choose sphere; Set radius to 6, horizontal segments to 50, vertical segments to 50, position y to 11, position z to 40.




    Tick the checkmark to finalize sphere
